Joyce Falconer

Maw Broon
Joyce was raised in Torry, Aberdeen, and then trained at RSAMD, graduating in 1991.

Since then, she has enjoyed a considerably varied career, performing in theatre of all genres and at countless Burns Nights home and abroad.

National tours include: Jean Guthrie in Sunset Song (APA); The Vagina Monologues and Corbie in Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off (NTS). She writes her own shows and is a regular baddie in panto. Her role of Roisin and her unmistakable broad Scots tongue during the early years of BBC Scotland’s River City earned her many guest appearances, and she has been the feature of four documentaries.

Joyce has always a deep fondness of The Broons and is chuffed to play Maw.
